#039 Twice upon a tea time

The goose that laid the golden eggs (prologue)
Mary was a hen which lay golden eggs, she was kidnapped by Jack and locked up in a tiny cage for months.
One day, a kind little fairy flew by and saw Mary. Feeling sympathy for Mary, the fairy aided her to escape from Jack.
To prevent Jack from finding her again, the fairy transformed Mary into a goose, as Mary always wished to know how to swim.
Thus, Mary the hen became a goose, which lived on a lake near a cottage.

The End.
P.S. for those who got confused, read the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk' followed by 'The goose that laid the golden eggs'.

Three little pigs (tragic incident)
Recalled that near the ending of the story, the pig(s) boiled a pot of water and awaited for the wolf to climb through the chimney.
The story (true incident) actually occurred during a Christmas eve night, and the wolf was not the first one to climb through the chimney that night.
Since then, Santa Claus became a myth and parents had to cover for Santa Claus's job during Christmas.

The End.

Three men and the cornfield (Adapted from my JC-GSC teacher)
Three good friends of different characteristics came across a cornfield, the corn stalks were tall that were over their heads. One of them wants to make a wager, to see who can pluck the tallest corn stalk.
The condition is to walk across the cornfield in a straight line and pluck only corn stalk. Once plucked, there will be no changing of mind.
All three of them went in together, when they came out from the other side, each of them is holding one corn stalk.
Each of them takes turn to describe how and why he picks that stalk.

The one with the shortest explained, “Even before I first entered the cornfield, from a distance I saw this corn stalk standing out from the rest. Therefore, I rushed towards it and pluck it. However, as I continued walking out of the cornfield, I saw many more stalks that are much taller. I am really regretted that I make such a hasty decision.”

The one with the slightly taller stalk said, “Whenever I saw one that is relatively tall, I thought that maybe there is another taller stalk further down. Hence, I kept proceeding without plucking any stalk. Until when I could see the end of the cornfield and I still have not plucked any stalk, I panicked. But there is no turning back, so I could only grab this stalk that is the tallest among those stalks in front of me. I should not have been so greedy, hoping to get the tallest.”

The third friend was holding a stalk that is significantly taller the other two stalks. Both of them congratulated him and asked how he was able to find the tallest stalk from the path of cornfield that he took.

The one with the tallest stalk shook his head and explained, “I did not pick the tallest stalk that was in my path. After I entered the cornfield, I observed the tall stalks that are around me. After passing a handful of them, I had a rough idea of the average height of those tall stalks. When I saw this stalk that is relatively higher than my estimated average height, I chose this. Although subsequently I saw stalks that are even taller than this stalk which I plucked, I had no regrets. Even though it is not the best, I know that I still made a good decision.”

The End

#038 Once upon a tea time

The Ugly Duckling (short version)
Once upon a time, there is a little ugly duckling.
One day, it grew up to become a beautiful swan.

The End.

The Tortoise and the Hare (the rematch)
The hare learned his lesson from the race and decided to challenge the tortoise again to vengeance for his lost.
The tortoise is willing to accept the challenge on the request that he gets to choose the route for the race, the hare accepted.
In the end, the tortoise won the race again. And the hare is still stuck at the river bank.

The End.
P.S. if you happen to see a rabbit by a river, let it knows that the race is over.

The Emperor's New Clothes (emperor's diary)
What happened 5 years ago had proven that my people seriously needed to be educated.
It had been 4 years since I implemented the 3 education enhancement policies:
1) Spending one-third of my country’s resources on education.
2) Compulsory education for children primary school age (age 7).
3) Half-yearly countrywide Intelligence Quotient (IQ) test, adults (age 18) scoring below 200 (the minimum requirement to see THAT clothing) will have to attend 20 secessions of remedial classes.

I am glad to see that the result of the IQ test increases exponentially.
For the past 2 years, the average score for the adults is around 208.
It is all thanks to my adviser, who suggested that giving them the same questions will improve their IQ more efficiently and quickly.

Even though I long wished to put on THAT clothing again to show my people, my adviser always strongly disagree, explaining that young kids have yet to achieve the IQ of 200.

What he said is quite true; therefore I never wore THAT clothing since then. Besides, I could not find it since I took it off 4 years ago.

The End.

#037 live to love or love to live? part 1

From the title sounds like its going to be a profound blog. not really actually, i just randomly come up with that name.

I wanted to write this blog for quite some time but I don’t have the mood to start writing. Now since that I have some free time, I better get my hand working. If not this blog will start to grow spider web….

I have a couple of things to touch on – having or not having boy/girlfriend, boy/girlfriendS or future husband/wife, love or sex, what’s after marriage. Well, not sure if I have the mood tonight to say so much, maybe I just talk about first one and leave the rest for future blogging.

Having or not having boy/girlfriend?
To save trouble, I just use the term girlfriend.

What is girlfriend?
A female friend which would hold your hand even while not playing games?
A female friend who doesn’t mind you boosting around that she is yours?
A female friend who you can wrap your arms around without her screaming?

Do you like her or love her? Or she is for you to tell your other guy friends that “Hey, I have a (this) girlfriend, just like you (pointing at those with girlfriends).”

I not very sure if I had mentioned the following thoughts, which I used to have, to her (I think I did mention but not in detail):

More than 5 years ago, “girlfriend” is a word that seems unreachable. It a word that “wa… so good…” if one can hold it (her) in his hand. It is a word that I will think about every night “when will I get one?”

Looking at a girl, thoughts like – “will she accept me if I confess?”, or when a girl smiles – “is she interested in me?” will surface to my mind.

Looking at friends around me “why and how did they get a girlfriend?” I don’t remember who but I believed I did ask some of my friends questions like “how to do talk to a girl” or “what do you all talk about?”

I’m quite sure these are some of the thoughts that guys without girlfriend will be thinking of. But I must say this kind of thinking is WRONG!

Ya, I know. I used to think that way too. I did stupid stuff before too, said stupid things before too, and thought of stupid ideas before too. That is why I do not wish to see others following my footsteps.

Important, girls are NOT objects, they have feelings too. They are not toys which 3 years old kid (we guys) would say “I want!”

Shame on us… wanting a girl just because we think she is “chio”. But,
1) how well do we know her?
2) what is her personality?
3) how does she deal with problems?

Note: these are the 3 main questions that guys don’t give a damn when they are attracted to a girl.

After spending tons of effort, money, creative ideas to woo her. Finally win her “heart” and have a girlfriend. Finally have a sweet honeymoon period. But what comes after that?

Miscommunication, misunderstanding, fails to communication, fails to understand each other, unable to solve the problems. Start to tell yourself “we are not meant for each other”, “I don’t like her actually”, “why can’t we be together?”, “what happen between us?”

I tell you what happen… the root of the problem lays in the 3 questions I mentioned above. Guys often fail to understand the girl before telling himself “I like her”. While the girl, blinded by the fanciful stuff that a guy would do for her, thinking that this will last forever, fall for that guy.

Shit…. I’m writing halfway and started to forget the main idea for this blog…

Okay, to put it simple. Girlfriend is NOT an object that you want it, you try to get one. She is not for you to show off to others but to show your true self to her. Being Mr. Nice guy cannot last forever, honeymoon will run out of “money” (also refers to creative ideas, patients and interest)

If you are thinking of a girl or even girls right now, ask yourself this…
Is she a wants or needs?

WRONG! THIS IS TOTAL WRONG!

Once again, girls are NOT objects. But also don’t start saying philosophy things like “oh… let the nature take its course” or “see fate, when it is time it will come”

You do have to put in effort to win a girl, but only when you know and have the right mind set.

What is the right mind set? Well, I have told you what the wrong mind sets are.
